Special Issue of Positively Aware

The Challenge:
Design an entire special issue of TPAN’s journal “Positively Aware” and a series of outreach and education ads that address a variety of topics and issues critical to TPAN’s mission.

The Toolbox Solution:
First was to create an easy to read publication that a non-professional could understand. Toolbox had to rapidly learn the complex topic of “Pharmacokinetics”. Second task was to create an edgy TPAN branded campaign to be used in the “Positively Aware” magazine and in various gay publications. Using a bright, clean layout with heavy use of graphics - Toolbox created a dynamic special issue format that became a new standard for TPAN. The ad campaign used hard-hitting headlines and simple text along with full-page images to grab the attention of the reader.

Implementation:
The ad campaign was introduced at TPAN’s annual fundraiser - and is still being used in multiple publications to date. The campaign was recognized by TPAN at their gala the following year, by honoring Kevin Putz and Toolbox with the “Chris Clason Committed to Living” award.
